Audio Track Order in SmoothStreaming Manifests

Hi,

Is it possible specify the order of the audio tracks in the SmoothStreaming client manifest when creating the streaming manifest for VOD? Despite the order of the audio tracks in your manifest file, the SmoothStreaming client manifest seems to force a different order.

The reason I ask is some SS clients simply use the last audio track in the client manifest as the default track and I want a particular track used for those clients.

Thanks

Re: Audio Track Order in SmoothStreaming Manifests

Hi,

Tracks in a smooth streaming client manifest are 'unordered': it's the client that should select the best option.

Please not that adaptive bitrate audio is not supported in Smooth, so when you say 'the last audio track' in the server manifest, what are the audio tracks listed?

Best

Hi,

By 'tracks' I meant different audio formats (AAC, DTS, ec).

Hi,

Thanks for letting us know.

Perhaps you could use the following to filter out codecs:

http://docs.unified-streaming.com/documentation/vod/playout-control...

so you can use separate urls for different devices.

Best,
