Widevine DRM broken in 1.7.17

Hi,

we have a problem with DRM encryption after update to 1.7.17. Encrypted streams can no longer be played after upgrade.
Downgrade to 1.7.16 - works. Upgrade again - broken again.

I can provide test URLs. Anything else to check?

BTW, What is the official way to report a bug?

Hi Jo, we need to assess if it is a bug first. Can you tell us what player and Widevine server you are using?

I know the Widevine registrar recently changed and now returns a different PSSH box.

Kind regards,

Will.

Re: Widevine DRM broken in 1.7.17

Hello,

I tried with serveral HTML5 Players: Chrome Linux, Chrome Windows, Edge Windows 10. HTML5 Player code from bitmovin and castlabs.
Also, on chromecast (native google libraries).
DRM Backend ist from DRMtoday (castlabs). There is a static key configured in unified streaming,
the DRM backend gives out the key without a problem, just the stream does not play.

I have test streams available, but can't disclose them publicly.

Can you test in the Shaka player?

Here's our working Widevine link:

Is there any debug logging from your players? Without access or any way of seeing what's happening it's very difficult for use to find out what might be occurring.

Perhaps you can test the above link and give us access in some manner. We could always give you our IP address to whitelist.

Please continue this in a support@unified-streaming.com email.
